Sciberia Mammo

0. About the Product

Sciberia Mammo - software for automated analysis of medical images of X-ray mammography (hereinafter referred to as Sciberia Mammo, software, module) is designed to analyze medical images of X-ray mammography to identify pathological inclusions corresponding to Birads categories (2, 3, 4, 5), as well as to determine the structure of the breast according to ACR. The software performs analysis, marking, and provides an SC series with secondary processing results and an SR report. The functionalities include downloading DICOM files of the required modality, data processing, generating Secondary capture, Structure report, sending results, and generating statistics.

Note

Sciberia Mammo is a Decision Support System (DSS).

0.1. Functionality

Main functionality:

  • Has the capability to automatically process incoming digital X-ray mammography images when installed on medical organization servers [1].

  • Has the capability to send studies to the Sciberia Mammo cloud server when using Sciberia Viewer.

  • Analyzes images and allows automation of processes for detecting pathological changes in the breast structure by Birads categories and determining the breast structure according to ACR.

  • Generates Secondary capture (processed study) with secondary processing results [2].

  • Generates Structured Report (structured report) with study characteristics and quantitative calculations [3].

  • Has a web interface for module monitoring.

  • Has the capability to conduct work result statistics.

  • Has the capability to visualize statistical data.

1. Installation

  • Installation and access organization are carried out by the technical support team of Sciberia.

  • Installation on a medical organization server (it can be a server solution or installation on a user workstation).

Access to operation is provided after the module installation, during which the PACS-server configuration is set up, with which the module will interact.

Note

The result of Sciberia Mammo processing is a preliminary diagnosis and requires mandatory interpretation by a specialist.

2. Working with the Module

To access the processing results from the module, any DICOM viewer must be installed at the physician’s workstation.

2.1. Module Installed on Server

  • The module performs continuous monitoring of new brain studies of the suitable modality and carries out their analysis and processing.

  • The module performs continuous monitoring of new brain studies of the suitable modality and carries out their analysis and processing.

  • A monitoring screen for the module’s operation is available from any web browser application.

2.1.1. Automatic Processing of Studies

The Mammo module is constantly waiting for new digital X-ray mammography studies for processing. - Studies are automatically directed for processing directly from the PACS server. When a new digital X-ray mammography study appears on the PACS server, the module prepares the images for processing.

Note

The module performs automatic processing of studies immediately after their arrival at the PACS server.

2.2. Access to the Module via API

Login and password for accessing the API, where the module is located, are provided by Sciberia.

2.2.1 Sending Studies for Processing Using Sciberia Viewer

To send a study to the Sciberia Mammo processing module, select the required study and click the Send» button image1.

  • The manual sending of studies for processing is available in the Sciberia Viewer program.

Important

Sciberia Viewer - is software for viewing DICOM medical studies obtained from diagnostic equipment of various manufacturers. The software is available for an additional fee.

From the list, select the API and the necessary series, enter the API login and password. You can check the box «Remember me». Click on the «Send» button.

Note

In Sciberia Viewer settings, you can configure the connection parameters to the API.

2.3. Processing Results

After processing, a copy of the original series with the modality «SC» (Secondary Capture) is created in the local storage.

Note

Processed results are sent back to the PACS server, from where users can view the results using any DICOM viewer.

If the software detects pathological patterns, the following information is recorded on the Secondary Capture image (marked with corresponding numbers):

After processing, the same studies with additional Secondary Capture annotations and the software’s work report in the Structure report format are provided. After processing, the viewer receives the Secondary Capture image. If the software detects pathological patterns, the following information is recorded on the Secondary Capture image (marked with corresponding numbers):

3. Module Shutdown

The module operates continuously in the ‘background’ mode, so user operations to complete the module are not provided. The module can only be interrupted by turning off the server on which the module is installed, uninstalling it, or if it is disconnected by the system administrator of the medical organization.
